Small festivals

There are small beer feasts on the occasion of some events in Chandrovo, Kozmodemjanski uyezd (region):

Posa sari (hempen beer).
When they have to pull fimble (about July, 20) son-in-law together with his wife after the first year of marriage goes to father-in-law to help him to pull fimble. He brings beer and some other food with himself (koshchtanacha – presents, gifts) and after the work they eat this food at father-in-law’s. But first of all they pray, offering up the same prayer as when making a sacrifice with beer.

Kantar sari (hemp beer).
In autumn when people pull hemp son-in-law with his wife again comes to help father-in-law, but only in the first year of marriage. He again brings beer and food with himself. Everything is the same as while the previous feast.

An sari (haystack beer).
Praying with beer because of the end of harvest season. In autumn, when people have already ended grain thrashing, they brew new grain beer and one day gather all relatives together making feast for them. At the beginning of the feast before sitting at table they pray with new beer. Five men stand in the middle of the room in front of the icon (because these are already Christians), each has a ladle with beer in his hands and together they offer up the prayer:
The Lord helped to work,
To end field work.
The Lord helped to get over the fire
Successfully.
Give increase of harvest,
Give more harvest.
Thank you,
The Lord, bless us!

Then they bow three times, drink off their beer and only then sit to table to eat.

Vylyah sari (praying with beer in honor of cattle). This feast is held at the beginning of winter during the sacrificial month. During this time father gives the dowry of his daughter to the son-in-law: a calf, sheep. The son-in-law again comes to the father-in-law with beer and other food, and here they first of all pray with beer as every time when they begin new beer.
