There are a lot of pireshtys, they are the angels of Chuvash mythology. In the sky they walk with God, that is why they are called “walking in front of G.” (Тор омêнче çўрекен). Every person has his own pireshty who follows you and nowhere stays abreast of you. But he doesn’t enter a tavern, he waits for you near the door. That is why you should exit the tavern through that door which you entered, otherwise pireshty can lose sight of you. Pireshty cries and looks for a person until finds. Though he is always following a person, nobody and never can see him. The leader of all pireshty is Kepe (Ulhash) (compare pes. Feriste “angel”).
