The leader of pireshty, angels in Chuvash mythology. He lives between heaven and earth, thus comes between God and people. If God sends people something good, Kepe fulfills it on earth. He also transfers people’s prayers to God, that is why he is often mentioned at the end of the sacrificial prayer:
…Let it reach Kepe
From Kepe reach God.
Southern Chuvash think that he has a mother: Kepe amash (Ulhash) (compare mar. kaba ‘sky’, kaba-kugo-jurno ‘Great God of fate’).
